A. Contractual and general conditions for groups

I. Visits

• Advance booking is required for all groups of 15 people or more. The start time of activities will be set in agreement with the group leader and must be respected by the group. The group rate applies from an actual number of 15 paying visitors.
• The mine can be visited by any able-bodied person at least 1 metre tall. Special arrangements are made for people with reduced mobility (see point D).
• Guide dogs are allowed, except on the mine visit.

II. Booking

• By booking one of our services or attractions, the customer agrees to these contractual conditions.
• The customer may cancel any booking provided the cancellation is made in writing and reaches Blegny-Mine ASBL at least ten days before the planned date. Otherwise the cancellation will not be considered and the agreed price will be due in full. The number of booked visits may be changed up to 48 hours in advance. After this deadline, the number of visits invoiced may not be lower than 90% of the booking, without falling below the minimum required to be considered a group.

III. Performance of the contract

• Blegny-Mine ASBL undertakes to do everything possible to provide the customer with the service ordered. Blegny-Mine ASBL cannot, however, be held responsible if performance of the contract is disrupted by force majeure, by a third party, or by the customer or someone in their group.
• The breakdown of a machine can only lead to a reduction in the agreed price if it causes a delay of at least one hour. Even if the delay exceeds one hour, any price reduction may only be granted if the customer’s day was genuinely disrupted. Thus no compensation is due where several activities were planned and it was possible to swap them so as to provide everything that had been booked.

IV. Payment

• All visits are payable in cash unless otherwise agreed and stated on the booking form. Payment will be made by a person responsible for the group, for the whole group, in cash, by Bancontact - Mistercash, Maestro, Visa or Mastercard. If an invoice is issued, it is payable within 30 days, at our offices or to one of our bank accounts. Any invoice not paid by the due date will be increased by a fixed, non-reducible indemnity equal to 18% of the amount due, with a minimum of €25. In addition, it will automatically bear interest at 5% from the due date until full payment, every month begun being due. No formal notice is needed for this interest to run.

V. Complaints

• Any complaint must be made immediately to the reception service; if this proves impossible, complaints must be made by registered letter within eight days of receipt of the invoice.

VI. Jurisdiction

• The various courts of Liège alone have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute in which Blegny-Mine asbl is involved, as claimant or defendant. If the dispute falls within cantonal jurisdiction, the 1st canton of Liège shall have jurisdiction.

B. Free admissions

• ORGANISED GROUPS: the group leader is admitted free; for children under 6, free admission is only granted if they are accompanied by family members.
• DRIVERS: drivers are admitted free and receive a meal (dish of the day or the same meal as ordered by the group).
• SCHOOLS: teachers are admitted free on visits, with a maximum of one free admission per twenty paying pupils. Additional teachers pay the “pupil” rate.

C. General “Catering” conditions

• Except for special events, our multi-purpose hall (330 seats) is available to schools for picnics. Take advantage of preferential rates by booking your drink or picnic before your visit (to be paid together with the visits).
• Soft drink 20 cl (in a reusable cup): €1.40 – Pepsi, Pepsi Max, Fanta, Sprite, craft apple juice, still water, sparkling water
• Canned drink 33 cl: €2.70 – Coca, Coca-light, Fanta, Sprite, Ice-Tea
• Tray of chips + sauce: €3.70
• Tray of chips + sauce + 1 fricadelle: €5.20
• Menus are available on booking at least one week in advance and for a minimum of 15 people. A catering slip will be drawn up for each request and will serve as proof of booking. To allow us to provide good service within a reasonable time, we ask the group leader to book a single menu for the whole group. The number of meals booked may be changed up to 48 hours before the planned date. After this deadline, the number of meals invoiced may not be lower than 90% of the booking, and 100% for cold buffets. All our prices are per person, VAT and service included.

D. Access for people with reduced mobility

• The mine visit is possible for people with reduced mobility on booking, with an adapted route.
• Toilets for people with reduced mobility are provided in the brasserie.
• Assistance dogs are welcome in the buildings and at the attractions, except on the mine visit (special setting).
