Our relaxation areas
Fancy a break in the heart of nature? Leisure and relaxation areas for the whole family.
The mini-golf (paid access)
An 18-hole course on the theme of mining, with authentic obstacles: tubs, beams, tools… Open at weekends and on public holidays from April, and every day during the spring and summer holidays. Closed in bad weather: contact us to find out whether the courses can be played.
The playgrounds (free access)
Three playgrounds: one for ages 6-14, one for ages 3-6 and one for toddlers, near the small animal park. Slides, swings and other play equipment for safe fun.
The aviaries (free access)
Themed aviaries with species linked to mining, including the canary, the miners’ faithful companion, used to detect gas in the underground galleries. A peaceful and instructive place.
The small animal park (free access)
Animals that played an important role in the miners’ lives: goats, once kept by miners’ families, and the rooster, symbol of Wallonia.

Walks from the site
6 walks, rides or cycle routes to discover the nature around Blegny-Mine.
After an “underground walk” on the guided tour of the mine, or simply to discover the nature and beautiful scenery around Blegny-Mine, 6 walks, cycle routes and rides start from the site.
The walking map “Blegny au gré de nos chemins” is on sale at Blegny-Mine, the Blegny municipal offices and the Herve Region Tourist Office. Leaflets for each walk are available in French and Dutch.
These walks were created and waymarked by the non-profit Le Réveil (Réseau vert des initiatives locales), a group of volunteers working for the environment, heritage and the past.
