Educational discovery of provincial heritage

Specific offers as part of the educational discovery of provincial heritage. View the offers

The educational activities

Original, fun and educational field activities for children aged 8 to 14.

Our aim is to help pupils understand the historical, technical, human and environmental aspects of a region by confronting them with both theory and practice. During stays, our approach also aims to make them aware of community life: cooperation, attention, adaptation and respect for the environment.

In the heart of the Herve region, our educational team offers activities grouped around four themes. All activities last half a day.

The mine

The archive and documentation centre; world heritage; immigration; discovering the Puits-Marie; fossils; storytelling walk and theatre workshop; from coal to green energy; waste in all its forms.

Nature

Tree, my friend; the slag heap biotope; the birds of the slag heap; the world of bees.

Local produce

Visit to a syrup factory; visit to a cheese dairy; visit to the Didier Smeets chocolate maker.

Sport

Introduction to orienteering; country golf; introduction to martial arts.

Booking conditions

  • Advance booking is essential for all activities (maximum 30 children per activity unless stated otherwise).
  • Each group must be accompanied by at least one teacher; for groups of more than 25 people, an additional accompanying adult is strongly recommended.
  • Unless the contract provides otherwise, payment is made by the teacher at Blegny-Mine reception, in cash, by Bancontact, Visa or Mastercard.
